Hello, Fight Deck Challengers!
It's been a little over a week into the Kickstarter campaign, and we’re blown away by your incredible support. Fight Deck has now surpassed 700% of its funding goal, and we’ve unlocked three stretch goals! This campaign wouldn’t be where it is without all of you, and we’re beyond grateful for this amazing community. I'd like to take the opportunity and share with you what we have been working on.
Embrace the Impeding Doom
It’s time to face Doom Vicar. A harbinger of judgment, wielding a colossal weapon that bends all rules in the arena. Here is a sneak peek at some of his core mechanics. It's plain to see that Meter Costs mean nothing in the face of his chaos power.
Doom Vicar is estimated to be added as a playable character onto the Fight Deck mod on Tabletop Simulator in April. Are you ready to embrace the impeding doom?
Rulebook Update & Effects Balancing
We are constantly working on refining the rulebook to improve clarity, as well as balancing dynamic effects to enhance the overall gameplay experience.
One of the most common challenges for new players is running out of cards in hand, while seasoned players have no trouble maintaining card draw. Since Fight Deck does not have many innate card draw mechanics, players must learn their fighter’s move set to optimize their resources.
To address this, we’ve made adjustments:
- Blocking Tax → Blocking Focus – This change naturally provides more opportunities for card draw, helping new players maintain their hand.
- Neutral Duck Adjustment – A slight nerf will encourage players to rely on blocking more often, reinforcing Blocking Focus as a way to gain cards.
These refinements ensure a more accessible yet strategically deep experience for both newcomers and veterans alike! The updated rulebook is already available for download! Feel free to playtest and provide your feedback on these changes, we are always listening!
Dragon Breath Move Variant
Dragon Breath was officially revealed during the Discord stream last Saturday and is part of the Move Variants Expansion.
This move is perfect for setting up high-speed projectile attacks while also giving Dragon Fighter a natural 1-speed move, allowing him to juggle his combos even longer. When paired with Wyvern Nova, Dragon Fighter becomes an absolute power house for high speed projectiles that unleashes non-stop fireballs!

Advanced Ruleset for Competitive
Did you know that there's an advanced version of Fight Deck's ruleset?
This ruleset is designed to reduce variance and enhance competitive play, offering a more skill-driven experience for those who want to master the game at a deeper level. Here’s a match played using the advanced ruleset from our Discord Stream!
You can also participate the advanced ruleset playtests or watch the stream on our Discord server.
Card Sleeves & Fulfillment
We've heard your feedback on wanting card sleeves to cover expansions as well!
Currently, we are in discussions with our manufacturer to explore the possibility of offering a smaller card sleeve bundle specifically for expansions. If it goes through, we intend to provide a free upgrade to our All-in backers regardless of the pricing. We will most likely receive an update from the manufacturer later this week.
On the fulfillment side, there is still uncertainty regarding tariffs, but one thing is certain—our U.S. backers will not be impacted by the US/Canada tariff as one of our fulfillment partners will be directly based in the U.S.. Rest assured, we will always seek the most optimal fulfillment solutions for all our backers to ensure smooth delivery.
What Would You Name This Move?
To wrap up, here’s a look at one of Sumo Sensei’s upcoming Super Moves! In this devastating Shiko technique, he delivers an immensely powerful sumo stomp that shakes the arena and knocks his opponent off their feet.
What would you name this move? Keep in mind, Sumo Sensei's moves follow an elemental theme: Wind/Kaze, Forest/Mori, Fire/Hono, and Mountain/Yama. For example, one of his revealed moves is called Forest Stand (and standing ironclad defense move).
Leave a comment below and let us hear your ideas!
That's all for now, challengers! Thank you again for being part of this amazing community. If you want some live updates, you can directly communicate with me and the rest of the Fight Deck enthusiasts on our Discord server.
